JCB European Parts Centre - Transport Management Case Study...



cblogoJCB European Parts Centre situated in Sarcelles in Paris supplies VOR replacement parts to a chain of European JCB dealers based in France, Germany, Benelux, Spain, Italy, Austria and Eastern Europe.

There are a total of 37,000 different SKUs held in the European parts centre out of an overall total of 168,000 live parts held by JCB. This enables JCB to hit their target VOR service level of over 95% parts availability to customers throughout Europe.

Parts range in size from small washers and screws to windscreens, pipes, and large wheels, buckets and booms.

3t manage JCB EPC’s total transportation requirement to provide a combination of night time and next day deliveries throughout Europe ensuring minimum down time of JCB machines.

3t provide a completely automated process with over 200,000 deliveries and approximately €6million of transport spend a year managed through 3t’s Global Carrier Manager system, offering automatic carrier selection, shipment consolidation, carrier communication, full track and trace and 100% invoice audit.

The 3t operation is coordinated by an onsite administration team of 2 people who as well as overseeing any day to day queries are also identifying ways to improve ongoing transport costs.

So far 3t have implemented substantial savings for JCB and additional continuous improvement programmes are underway. The 3t solution also enables JCB to better understand their logistics costs and the impact on their bottom line of increasing customer demand.
