Operational metrics for logistics leaders. At this time of the year, most logistics leaders will have already set out their vision and objectives for the year. Chief among these, I imagine, will be improving logistics performance.

We all use metrics to measure our business performance but the new year brings an opportunity to review those metrics to determine if they are still the right ones and whether you have the right data?

From the host of metrics that are generated, which ones really matter? According to Gartner, “Supply chain leaders focusing on logistics often struggle to identify the most impactful operational KPIs”. [1]

This makes the crucial task of monitoring and improving logistics performance data extremely challenging.
